Alva Museum Replica ,1976. Founded in New York by Alfred Wolkenberg in 1948, the AMR worked closely with major global museums—such as the Louvre, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian—to create precise museum-grade molds and reproductions of historic artifacts.
Bronze composite figurative statue of a cherub or Putto holding a dolphin. Modeled directly after an ancient Roman fountain statuette excavated at Pompeii. In original Roman gardens, these statues functioned fountain with water spouting from the dolphins mouth into a basin.
Measures 20" tall x 9 3/4" x 5 3/4".
