Combining luxurious materials with substantial Edwardian craftsmanship, this impressive piece features a wood body richly covered in beautifully textured shagreen, complemented by a generous application of sterling silver trim.

At the center is a magnificent, substantial arched sterling silver handle, giving the piece a strong architectural presence while emphasizing the quality and expense of its original construction. The box is distinguished by its wonderful double-lid construction with central divider. The silver elements are fully hallmarked and date the box to 1909, providing an important historical reference for the piece.

Weighing approximately 1 pound 8 ounces, the box measures an impressive 8.5 inches wide, 5.5 inches deep, and 4.25 inches high. Good antique condition with light signs of age-related wear and use.
