A charming late 20th century porcelain catchall by Mottahedeh, made in Portugal and decorated with a whimsical garden-themed rebus. Illustrated watering cans, a potted tree, rake, wheelbarrow, fruit, sun, and other motifs mingle with flowing script to form the cheerful sentiment, “Happiness & sun-filled skies make your garden a paradise.”
The softly scalloped form is finished with a green foliate border and fine brown edging, giving the diminutive dish the feeling of an old-fashioned country-house accessory.
