Made … Read more Striking vintage art glass vase designed by Tamara Aladin for Riihimäen Lasi, one of Finland’s best-known historic glass manufacturers.

Made from substantial amber-coloured glass, the vase features a richly textured surface, a heavy clear glass base and a distinctive organically shaped rim. The irregular texture beautifully catches and refracts the light, creating the warm reflections characteristic of Scandinavian art glass from the 1970s.

Similar examples are commonly found in a smaller version measuring around 21 cm, while this impressive 28 cm example represents the larger and less frequently encountered variant.

A beautiful piece of Finnish Scandinavian Modern design, equally suitable for a collection of Nordic glass or as a sculptural decorative object in a contemporary, vintage or Mid-Century Modern interior.
