The castors are all stamped and they look to read flehmerd which i’ve not heard of before, i’ll be taking my loop to the warehouse shortly to properly investigate the real piece de resistance of this chair is the lion carved arms, they are exquisite and really set the chair apart from all others from the era, that coupled with the original embroidered upholstery seat base. Embroidery on victorian furniture was done by the ladies of the day, it proved they could be well behaved and not annoy their husbands and that they were educated and talented in tasks relating to the home so could run a household, quite comical by today's standards but a great conversation piece we have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished the timber from top to bottom, there will be normal age related patina marks all over.
