Rare wmf art deco smoking set, 3 pieces, for cigars or cigarettes, consisting of an ashtray, cigarette or cigar case, and matchbox holder. Wmf (württembergische metallwaren fabrik), germany, circa 1920-30. Punched, hammered, and faceted chased brass with a patinated finish; glass inlays of 7mm thick green glass with a ground edge. Playful, partially riveted metal feet and cigar rests with floral motifs reminiscent of the work of dagobert peche (wiener werkstätte). The ashtray and cigar case are marked on the bottom with the wmf ostrich mark; the matchbox holder is unmarked.
