The decoration is incredibly detailed, with traditional figural scenes wrapping around the body, including a colorful procession with a mythical beast, attendants, trees, flowers and garden imagery.

I especially love the elaborate borders. Bands of latticework, florals and geometric motifs encircle the top and bottom, while pierced openwork details and raised enamel bosses create wonderful texture and dimension. A large pierced medallion decorates each side, echoed by the pierced medallion on the top. The combination of hand-painted decoration, openwork and raised details makes the piece especially beautiful from every angle.

At approximately 18.5" tall, this is a substantial and wonderfully decorative piece that works beautifully as a garden stool, small side table or sculptural accent. The mix of traditional Chinese imagery with the fresh pink, blue and green palette gives it such a joyful look.
