A painting as impactful as its subject. Elephants hold a very special place in the human heart; we recognise their complex social structures and emotional sentience as being similar to ours. Dutch artist Guusje Bertholet has given her subjects neutral monochrome colouration but subtly edged the piece in fluorescent orange to bring a glow giving warmth to the whole. These elephants are beautifully observed and catch the movement and composition of the herd as they flow through the canvas. A truly stunning painting that brings the character and lives of these magnificent animals to life, imparting their unique place in the world fluently in the art.
Mixed media on canvas.
