An original woodblock print by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi (1839-1892) dated Meiji 1 (1868) - an early work from the dawn of the Meiji era, when Yoshitoshi was still in his twenties and already emerging as the last great master of ukiyo-e. 'Toyotomi Promotion Records' (豊臣昇進禄) follows the rise of Toyotomi Hideyoshi; this example, published by Banson (萬孫), carries the collector's numbering '68-15' from the Yoshitoshi catalogue.
The Japanese seller described it as an oban triptych ('大判三枚絵'), approx. 28.3 x 14.2 in combined. Old prints are rarely flawless: expect small scratches, rubbing, age-related toning and discoloration, as described by the seller; please judge carefully from the photographs.
