Charming vintage portrait oil on canvas by American artist Bena Frank Mayer (1900–1994), depicting a seated young girl wearing a dark cardigan and plaid dress with her hands gently folded in her lap. The composition features a subdued, earthy palette and an intimate interior setting characteristic of traditional American portraiture. Signed “Bena Frank Mayer” at the lower right and presented in its simple wood frame. The reverse retains an artist label with her New York address and a handwritten notation identifying the work as “Portrait of Young Girl, Plaid Dress, Hands Folded.”
