The set combines the tall, narrow model 3080/38 with the lower, broader model 3080/20.

both vases feature deeply modelled reliefs and glazed interiors. Their contrasting proportions create a balanced arrangement, while directional light highlights the textured surfaces. Display them together on a sideboard, console or deep shelf, either unfilled or with restrained floral arrangements.

the designs date from the 1960s. Factory marks indicate that the taller vase was produced in 1975 and the smaller example in 1992.

martin freyer (1909–1974) was a german painter and graphic designer who worked with rosenthal from 1964 to 1974. His porcelain and glass designs focused on repetition, relief and the interaction of light and shadow.
