This design closely relates to the documented Thonet Model No. 8350. The piece is defined by its sculptural central pedestal composed of a radiating sheaf of steam-bent beechwood ribs that flare outward from a stepped circular base to support the thick-rimmed round tabletop. Prutscher’s architectural mastery is evident in the dynamic tension between strict vertical geometry and organic, calyx-like curvature. See less
