The form … Read more A "Pala" vase, designed by Helena Tynell for Riihimäen Lasi Oy in 1964 and in production until 1976.

The form is pure geometry: a heavy square block, drawn in at the waist and opening into a shallow square bowl, so the whole thing reads as two cubes balanced on a stem. The mould leaves a rippled, water-like texture across the faces, and the aqua glass shifts from pale turquoise where it is thin to deep blue in the mass. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
