A striking and extremely heavy Czech studio art glass vase by Milan Macháček for Princ Glass, featuring a dark cobalt blue glass body with an intricate hand-cut and highly polished geometric optical design. The center section is carved with deep concave and faceted cuts that create dramatic changes in transparency, reflection and optical distortion, revealing warm yellow optical effects within the thick glass. The combination of massive proportions, intense blue color and precisely cut geometric surfaces make this a particularly impressive example of Macháček's distinctive approach to contemporary Czech art glass. The vase was signed on the bottom by Milan Macháček.
