The piece features a rich cobalt blue ground contrasted with white porcelain and extensive gilt decoration. The central reserves are adorned with finely hand-painted polychrome floral bouquets, surrounded by elegant scrolling gilt motifs.
Its elaborate Rococo Revival form is particularly decorative, with sculptural side handles, molded white and gilt details, and four small paw-form feet. The combination of deep cobalt blue, gold and hand-painted flowers gives the piece a particularly refined and luxurious appearance.
Artibus was a Portuguese porcelain manufacturer established in Aveiro in 1947 and known for the quality of its decorative porcelain production.
Marked underneath with the Artibus Aveiro Portugal manufacturer’s mark and an additional factory mark.
A fine example of mid-20th-century Portuguese decorative porcelain, suitable as a jardinière, cachepot or decorative centerpiece. See less
