Severin Hansen’s work for Haslev is celebrated for its disciplined geometry, sophisticated joinery and exceptional use of richly figured woods. This pair displays those characteristics particularly well. Each table features a square veneered top surrounded by a precisely constructed wooden frame. Elegant mitered corners transition visually into the slender legs, producing the clean, almost continuous architectural lines characteristic of Hansen’s furniture. The beautifully figured surfaces provide a warm organic contrast to the strict geometric construction. Their restrained Scandinavian aesthetic makes the tables equally suitable for Mid-Century Modern, contemporary and eclectic interiors. with their compact 47 × 47 cm proportions, the tables are highly versatile and can function as side tables, end tables, occasional tables or as a coordinated pair positioned around a sofa or lounge seating arrangement. The tables have been carefully refurbished, preserving their authentic vintage character while presenting beautifully. Minor signs of use and age remain consistent with their history. Remnants of the original manufacturer’s labels are preserved underneath one table.
