The panel is worked in the region's signature deep linear hatching, dense, rhythmic horizontal fluted striations and comb-grooving running across all three planks, a hallmark technique of Northern Igbo carvers. The left plank breaks from this texture into a distinct carved field: an upper register of stacked square-grid checkerboard, read as a reference to prestige woven textiles and harvest abundance, and a middle register of deeply carved concentric X and diamond forms, possibly a cosmological or solar motif tied to title-holding rank, though this specific symbolic reading remains an informed interpretation rather than a certainty.
