This antique cabinet from France has a rectangular top with square profiled corners that project outward, above a case fitted with a pair of paneled doors which are decorated with raised geometric moldings accented by carved rosette corner blocks. The apron has a beautiful step-down design in the front and sides, giving the piece a refined architectural presence. It is raised upon tapered square legs. The doors open to interior storage with a single shelf, offering practical organization. The finish retains an attractive blend of original and later warm cream-colored paint, and faux-marbled top, with a naturally distressed patina and some areas of missing paint, contributing to the cabinet's authentic character and decorative appeal. This early 20th century French buffet combines classic provincial styling with versatile functionality, which would work equally well as a sideboard, entry chest, media console, or bedroom storage cabinet.
