Artisan-made in France, the piece has an unusual open form with two high oval end backs, creating a graceful silhouette that can be admired from every angle.
The solid beechwood frame is richly carved with floral garlands, leaves, blossoms and classical decorative motifs. A warm antique-gold finish covers the main frame, while selected floral details are highlighted with silver-leaf accents, creating depth and contrast throughout the carving.
The generously proportioned seat has been newly upholstered in light gray velvet with deep button tufting, providing both decorative texture and comfortable seating. The inner sides of the oval backs are softly pleated, while the outer backs feature an especially decorative plissé-style velvet treatment, gathered toward a central ornamental rosette with tassel detail. Braided trim finishes the upholstery neatly around the carved frames.
The combination of gold, silver and soft gray gives the settee a sophisticated neutral palette that works beautifully in French-inspired, neoclassical, eclectic or glamorous interiors.
