The bureau bookcase was a staple of any fine library or study, it you know your Georgian paintings you will see many a great man toiling away at one of these This piece is quite special as its very original, it has a wonderfully detailed Thomas Chippendale style carving around the borders of the doors. The timber is of course oak and it has the correct period patina Condition wise, we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom. The baize is well used and aged, some of the little drawers inside are missing handles, apart from normal age and use related patina its in very fine order Dimensions Height:- 195.5cm, top alone 89.5cm, base alone 109 cm Width:- top alone 105.5cm, base alone 102.5cm Depth:- top alone 28.5cm, base alone 54.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
