An immense 19th-century French Louis Philippe walnut enfilade, which is made to feel even more expansive by the massie red … Read more An immense 19th-century French Louis Philippe walnut enfilade, which is made to feel even more expansive by the massie red marble that runs the length of the piece. The top consists of two pieces of stone with expressive white veining and chamfered edges. Beneath it is a row of six drawers that open with turned walnut knobs. Between each pair of drawers is an original lock, still intact but non-functional because their keys have been lost to time. Three double-doored cabinets sit beneath each pair of drawers, and they have all retained their keys through the years. Behind every paneled door is a spacious interior with a single fixed shelf measuring up to 16 ½” deep. The enfilade sits atop raised block feet that lend a sense of lightness to its otherwise imposing width. The marble top has light scratches and some chipping, consistent with age and use. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for use in your interiors. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
