A carved horizontal header runs along the top edge, and a small wood peg projects from the upper right corner, likely the door's original hinge or attachment point rather than a later addition. The carving here reads more graphic and geometric than the diamond lattice patterns common elsewhere in the collection, giving the piece real presence from across a room as well as up close. The panel shows a hairline crack and light surface wear, with a warm, fairly even patina throughout.
This radiating fan motif appears elsewhere in Dogon and Bamana carving traditions, which share enough visual vocabulary that a dual attribution is the honest call absent further provenance.
