A dark, naturally stained patch on the lower right — likely the result of old resin, tar, or prolonged smoke exposure from proximity to a household cooking fire — adds a distinctive mark of the door's working history rather than reading as damage. The carving remains legible throughout, with a moderate, evenly built patina consistent with genuine antique use.
