A fantastic patio set attributed to the iconic mid-century Woodard Sculptura design collection. This striking five-piece set features 4 beautifully curved armchairs surrounding a round mesh-top table, all executed in the signature sculpted wrought-iron and woven-wire construction that makes Sculptura so recognizable.
The chairs have an especially dramatic sculptural profile, with organically curved backs and seats that showcase the airy open-wire construction. The round table continues a complementary mesh pattern, creating a cohesive and highly collectible outdoor ensemble.
Our research suggests that the chairs are vintage models of Woodard's highly sought-after Sculptura line; the smaller size and low-slung seat height typify fabrication in the 1950s-1960s. The accompanying table appears to be contemporaneous and has been identified as Model 440155 in a specification guide for the Woodard Sculptura collection. No maker's marks but sourced through a Chicago gallery whose catalogue identified the pieces as "Russell Woodard Sculptura chairs & coffee table".
The set works beautifully on a patio, terrace, garden, poolside, screened porch, or sunroom, and would also make an exceptional statement piece in a covered outdoor entertaining area.
Dimensions: chair, 19.5w x 26"d x 27.5"h, seat 18"w x 19.5"d x 16"h; table, 30.5"w x 16.5"h.
Condition: Very good vintage condition; freshing painted over previously oxidized black finish, structurally sound, mesh fully intact, frame is as fabricated with no breaks or sign of previous repairs. Great condition for more than 70 years of enjoyment.
