Miniature cast-iron and enamel bathtub fitted with a copper and brass "Prof. Junkers" water heater unit, stamped D.R.G.M. (Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster). This rare early 20th-century salesman's sample demonstrates the Junkers Bathtub Boiler-a domestic gas-fired water heater designed to heat and deliver water directly to a bath or shower. Produced by Gebrüder Bing, one of Germany's foremost makers of technical demonstration models, the piece illustrates the innovative technology developed by Professor Hugo Junkers before his transition into aircraft engineering.
This model features a functioning-scale representation of the heater tower, complete with riveted brass detailing, feed pipes, and a small burner compartment.
