The charcoal-grey surface is decorated with an expressive arrangement of abstract and biomorphic motifs in red, blue, green and ochre. Its dense composition and dark ground give the piece a distinctly painterly quality, reflecting Portanier’s characteristic combination of symbolic imagery, free drawing and Mediterranean influences.

Measuring 28,5 cm in diameter and 7 cm high, the piece can be displayed as wall art. It may also be presented horizontally as a large decorative bowl. The display stand shown is not included.

“Liguria” is one of Portanier’s principal collections for Rosenthal Studio-Line, alongside “Alta Mira” and “Le Midi.” Examples from the series have appeared at European decorative-arts auctions. Portanier’s wider collaboration with Rosenthal was also represented in the 2024–2025 retrospective Le chemin du rêve at the Musée Magnelli in Vallauris. This piece has an attribution mark,
