this chest of drawers dates from the late baroque period, around 1780 — an era in which german cabinetmakers had reached full mastery of veneering and marquetry, moving away from heavy, solid-wood construction toward refined surfaces that played with light, grain, and contrast. The piece stands on a solid oak carcass, entirely veneered in a variety of walnut woods, carefully matched to create a lively, dynamic pattern across both doors.

two large cabinet doors, fitted with their original-style hardware, open to reveal a generous interior, while the slightly canted front corners lend the silhouette a subtle architectural presence typical of the period.
