Handsome Chippendale style mahogany glazed bookcase or display cabinet, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1900-1920
The cabinet features three glazed doors with elegant interlaced astragal glazing bars, opening to a shelved interior ideal for displaying books, porcelain or collectibles The richly figured mahogany is complemented by carved mouldings and a decorative central motif to the lower apron
Raised on distinctive carved paw feet, the cabinet displays the restrained yet decorative character associated with the Chippendale Revival, drawing inspiration from 18th-century English furniture design
