Crafted in the United States circa 1990, each chair is constructed of walnut and finished with a deliberately distressed, antique-style patina that gives the set the appearance of much older furniture.

The chairs feature substantial rectangular seats upholstered in genuine cognac-colored leather, finished along the lower edge with traditional nailhead trim. Above, the tall rectangular backs are upholstered in a coordinating striped textile in shades of brown, burgundy, red, and gold, creating an elegant contrast with the leather seats while reinforcing the Old World character of the design.

The walnut frames are particularly decorative, with spiral-turned legs and matching barley-twist stretchers characteristic of the Louis XIII tradition. Block-form joints, turned feet, and small baluster supports beneath the upholstered backs add further architectural interest, while the extensive stretcher system provides both visual richness and structural stability.

The distressed walnut finish has been intentionally aged to create depth and variation throughout, complementing the supple leather and richly colored fabric. Generous in scale and comfortable for dining, these vintage chairs would work beautifully around a large French, Spanish, or European-style dining table and are equally suited to a formal dining room, wine room, or large country interior.

The set is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and adorns a rich walnut patina with a beautifully aged antique finish throughout.
