A pair of walnut and olive ash burl cylindrical side tables by Cal Mode, made in Culver City, CA in the 1960s. The top consists of highly figured burlwood in bookmatched quadrants, suspended above the circular base by a ring of subtly sculpted walnut slats.
Despite their open, airy architecture, the tables are solidly built and sturdy enough to double as auxiliary living room seating as needed.
The tops are newly refinished and the bases are in excellent original condition, with age appropriate wear visible on close inspection.
