A striking large-format Japanese graphic design poster produced for Shinku Records in 1998.

Designed around the concept of soundwaves, the composition combines a vivid cyan grid with pixelated yellow forms, rhythmic red and orange bars, oversized Japanese typography and early digital-inspired graphics. The poster reads “Soundwaves representing the spirit and form of Kanazawa” and incorporates individual track titles throughout the design, including Sun Rize, Under Stars, Sakura Sakura, Silber Moon, Trans Music, GK1 and Take Off.

At the bottom, the statement “You can release yourself!” appears above the Shinku Records logo and “Shinku Records 1998.”

The bold pixel-grid aesthetic captures the experimental visual language of late-1990s Japanese electronic music and graphic design. Its combination of typography, saturated color and geometric abstraction gives the piece a distinctly postmodern quality.

At approximately 29” W × 40” H, the poster has substantial presence and works beautifully as statement artwork in a contemporary, modern, eclectic or design-focused interior.
