This is an exceptionally large and majestic vintage Chinese cloisonné sculpture of a coiled dragon. Standing at an impressive 37.8 inches (96 cm) tall and weighing 17.6 lbs (8 kg), this piece is designed to command attention as a monumental floor or console display.
The dragon's elongated body curves elegantly upward in an 'S' shape, featuring a mesmerizing pale turquoise-blue enamel ground lavishly decorated with intricate, colorful floral and scrolling vine motifs enclosed by fine brass wirework. The back is lined with a prominent, serrated gilded brass dorsal crest. The head, horns, open jaws, and the four clawed feet are fully gilded (or heavily gilt-lacquered brass), giving them a rich, radiant golden sheen that contrasts beautifully with the cool blue enamel.
