The piece features a brilliant and highly saturated mustard-yellow enamel ground, a color traditionally associated with the Chinese imperial court. Delicate brass wirework outlines an elaborate, symmetrical blooming pink and white lotus flower at the center—a symbol of purity and enlightenment in Eastern culture. Surrounding the lotus are scrolling tendrils and stylized leaves in shades of green, blue, purple, and red. The base and the lid are bordered with a scalloped blue and red repeating pattern. The lid is crowned with a robust, acorn-shaped copper finial.

Constructed on a pure copper base (visible on the rims), this jar is notably heavy and substantial, weighing over 1.4 kilograms.
