This is a beautiful vintage Italian Florentine-style giltwood mirror, featuring an ornate carved frame with a graceful, curving silhouette. The frame is embellished with scrolling acanthus leaves and a dramatic foliate crest at the top, all finished in richly aged gold.
The original-looking mirror glass has wonderful foxing, cloudiness, and age-related silvering, adding to its authentic old-world character. The gilt finish shows natural wear and patina throughout, giving the piece a particularly appealing timeworn appearance. The back retains its red covering and a small label marked “Made in Italy.”
A lovely decorative accent with Italian Baroque/Rococo influence, perfect for a gallery wall, powder room, or layered into a collection of antique and vintage mirrors.
