A highly collectible hand-numbered 7/200 color collotype from Norman Rockwell’s celebrated Tom Sawyer Suite, offered here unframed and preserved from long-term storage in its original mailing tube.
This classic scene depicts Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn in one of the most memorable episodes from Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Rockwell captures the boys’ fascination, mischief, and dead-serious childhood logic with the humor and narrative precision that made him one of America’s most beloved illustrators.
Originally created for the 1936 Heritage Press edition of Tom Sawyer, the illustration was later issued as a limited fine-art collotype. This example was printed in Austria and is hand-numbered 7/200 in pencil at the lower left. It bears Rockwell’s plate signature at the lower right and retains the printed “Printed in Austria” notation along the lower margin.
Collotype is a specialized printmaking process known for its subtle tonal range, painterly texture, and ability to reproduce fine surface detail. This is not a modern poster or standard offset reproduction, but a limited-edition fine-art print from the Tom Sawyer series.
The paper also retains an embossed publisher’s blind stamp near the lower corner, visible in the photographs.

The printed image retains strong color and presents well overall. The sheet has been stored rolled for many years and shows expected age-related curl and waviness. There is visible surface lifting/creasing in the outer margin area, including a small raised flap or delamination near one side margin, as shown in the detail photographs. Minor handling marks, scattered spotting, and edge wear are also present. The principal printed image remains visually strong and the noted condition issues are concentrated primarily in the margins rather than the central image area. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description. less
