Asymmetrical black art glass vase designed by Claus Josef Riedel for Riedel, Austria, during the 1970s–1980s.
The vase has a curved, folded shape with a deep crescent-shaped opening. Its finely textured matte exterior contrasts with the smooth, glossy interior. A silver-grey striped rim clearly defines the unusual silhouette.
Claus Josef Riedel (1925–2004) was the ninth-generation head of the Riedel family company. He is best known for developing modern wine glasses shaped for specific grape varieties.
