The English company John Wisden & Co. manufactured high-quality sports equipment between the late 19th and mid-20th centuries. This cricket bat is an official “Wisden Autograph” manufactured in Penshurst, Kent (England). This was the historic site where Wisden produced sporting goods. The signature: The engraved signature of the founder, John Wisden, is located on the underside. This antique cricket bat is highly decorative due to the strong branding of the two royal shields, the stars, and the lettering. The gold guarantee seal (gold seal sticker) on the back proves that this is a “Selected” or premium factory example from John Wisden & Co. This type of paper or wax seal was applied by the manufacturer as a mark of quality before the bat left the workshop in Penshurst. The cricket bat is 84 cm long, 10.5 cm wide, and 6 cm thick.
