c. 1930s-1940s; Roy Stringer Co., Ltd. - San Marino, California
A rare aluminum and glass countertop peanut warmer and vending machine, produced by Roy Stringer Co. and outfitted with its original "Eat 'Em Hot - 5¢" decal. The clear glass globe displays the peanuts while the electric base gently warms them for serving. A coin-operated mechanism releases a portion when the handle is turned, combining electric heating with single-serve vending. The body is constructed from formed and riveted aluminum with cast knobs and a removable glass bowl for easy cleaning. Maker's label reads: "Roy Stringer Co., Ltd., San Marino, Calif., U.S.A. - Patented."
Roy Stringer Co. specialized in small commercial electric warmers and countertop vending machines, supplying confectionaries, theaters, taverns, and lunch counters throughout the mid-20th century.
