Fabulous Fishing… and a Big… Beautiful Boat!!! What could be better than reaching the end of a busy day of fishing on the Mekong River in Southeast Asia from your vast Sampan boat? Well… we would have to ask the guy in this painting… BUT, we are guessing that the only thing better than actually being there would be that you get to hang this incredible image on your wall and imagine it however you wish…everyday!!! This is a MAGNIFICENT oil painting or wall art signed by artist S. Khan Boon mounted in a black painted wood frame bearing a light tan or beige linen matte trimmed with a gilded edge that surrounds the painting. Simply… STUNNING!!!! The intricately painted abstract image depicts traditional stilt houses as sharp, geometric buildings along the edge of a Southeast Asian waterway (most likely the Mekong River,) the light of the setting sun or the rising moon reflecting off the waves of the water which holds a large sampan or geometric wooden boat resting in the harbor, and a figure of a person or villager at the dark hull of the boat standing on the dock probably securing his boat after a long day of fishing for his family. Or maybe he is cleaning his draught (or draft) of fish so he can be on his way to sell his catch to the local market. Of course… he may call that boat or sampan both his home and his workspace. Boating communities in this culture share both river space and fishing spots as it is a popular means for economic gain and a way to keep old cultural ways alive in these areas. The color scheme is dominated by moody, atmospheric tones blending earthy browns, muted greens, and deep blues accented by subtle hints of pink and pale lavender. GORGEOUS!!! It is rather large and it will be FANTASTIC on any wall in your home and whether you are an avid fisher or simply possess a love for Southeast Asian cultural artistic expertise… THIS is the wonderful wall art you have been looking for to fill that space!
