Huge Oversize Original French film poster for the first Planet of the Apes movie in 1968.

slightest of original fold detectable at very close inspection at top of poster
however almost completely invisible now because of having been beautifully linen-backed.
Amazingly vivid colors.
The artwork on this poster is unique to the films French release and was designed by Jean Mascii (1926-2003)
one of France’s best known poster artists.
This cult sci-fi film was directed by Franklin J. Schaffner,
and stars Charlton Heston.
It was a hugely successful film, which led to four sequels between 1970-1973,
and further reboot films in 2001, 2011, 2014 and 2017 and 2024
