Set of three graduated and nesting vintage Indian wooden nesting boxes with hand-painted figural decoration. Each box has an architectural sloped-lid form with brass-tone metal hardware and painted scenes extending across the lids, fronts, and side panels.
The boxes are painted primarily in black with multicolored figural scenes featuring seated and standing figures. The decoration includes crescent moons, vessels, railings, and stylized landscape details in ochre, coral, green, white, and muted gold. The boxes are fitted with brass-tone metal hardware.
The three sizes nest for storage and display well as a graduated group.
