Hand-knotted wool rug from Afghanistan, woven in the Lori Pambak Kazak design — a 19th-century Caucasian pattern featuring two large octagonal medallions, one at each end, connected through the center field. Star-burst centers in navy and ivory sit on a warm mustard gold ground within each medallion, against a deep aubergine field. Bordered by multiple bands of diamond lattice and reciprocal geometric motifs in rust, navy, and cream.
Measures 5'3" x 6'7". Dense, plush pile, hand-knotted with a firm handle. Brand new condition, no wear or repairs.
