Handcrafted on Kauai in 1984, this early career masterwork perfectly showcases Miyano’s lifelong dialogue with the natural environment.The heavy-bodied ceramic vessel features a spectacular, detailed three-dimensional frog sculpture climbing across the upper shoulder of the vase. True to Miyano’s rustic and elemental style, the surface features striking organic variations in coloration—ranging from light sand and cream tones to deep smoky charcoal flashes, and vibrant copper-rust speckles achieved via primitive firing methods.The base is clearly hand-inscribed by the artist: "Miyano '84 Kauai".
