This vintage rug is hand-knotted in wool, woven in Afghanistan in the Ersari Turkomen tribal design tradition.
Measuring 10'0" x 13'5" (305 x 409 cm), the camel-toned field is divided into fifteen octagonal medallions, each centered on a large stylized bird gul in turquoise and blue.
The medallions are framed by a guard border of small pavilion motifs on a sage green ground, with inner bands of triangles and geometric devices in red, cream, and navy.
Finished with fringe at both ends, in good, presentable condition. A substantial rug suited to a large living room or dining room.
