Stunning matched pair of vintage Stiffel torchiere table lamps, featuring the highly desirable “Ostrich Egg” form in a beautiful soft celadon/sage green with substantial brass accents.

Dating to approximately the 1950s–1960s, these impressive lamps showcase the quality craftsmanship and distinctive styling for which Stiffel lighting is known. Each lamp features a glossy celadon green ceramic egg-shaped body mounted on a substantial stepped square brass base. Architectural brass detailing continues upward through the elongated column, giving the lamps an elegant, stately silhouette.

Each lamp retains a beautiful ribbed white milk-glass torchiere shade/diffuser measuring approximately 8” in diameter. When illuminated, the glass produces a soft, warm upward glow and beautifully highlights the vertical ribbed detailing.

The lamps also feature distinctive decorative wood and brass keyed rotary switches, an especially attractive period detail.

Condition

Very good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. The brass displays natural patina, spotting, oxidation and surface wear, particularly around portions of the bases and metalwork. This has been left intact rather than aggressively polished in order to preserve the lamps’ vintage character.

The celadon ceramic bodies retain a beautiful glossy finish. The milk-glass shades present beautifully and add significantly to the overall appearance of the pair.
