Distinctive pair of circa-1960s accent lamps featuring sculptural hurricane-inspired silhouettes and broad brass-tone metal dome shades.
Each lamp combines a stepped circular base, slender turned stem, reservoir-style body, decorative pierced gallery, and substantial hemispherical shade. The warm brass-tone finish is accented by darker trim, while white-painted shade interiors reflect light downward for a warm, atmospheric glow.
The unusual combination of hurricane-lamp styling and streamlined dome shades gives the pair a strong Mid-Century Modern presence with Hollywood Regency influence. At 24.5 inches tall, they have enough scale to make a statement on a console, credenza, nightstands, or living-room end tables.
The lamps retain vintage brown cords and plugs marked Gilbert 15A-125V, as well as Underwriters Laboratories portable-lamp labels on the undersides. One lamp operates with a key-style switch, while the other has a traditional rotary switch. Manufacturer is unknown.
Both lamps have been tested and are in working order. They retain authentic vintage character, including scratches, scuffs, patina, finish variation and areas of finish loss. The metal shades also have several small shallow dents/dings, all documented in the photographs.
Sold as a pair. Bulbs not included.

Good vintage condition with authentic age-related wear throughout. Both lamps retain their original-style aged brass-tone surfaces and show visible patina, scratches, scuffs, finish loss/rubbing, discoloration, small marks, and other surface wear consistent with decades of use. The metal dome shades have several shallow dents: approximately three dents on one shade and one dent on the other. Additional scratches, rubbed areas and finish irregularities are visible across the shades and bases. Please review photographs closely, as the surface character is intentionally shown in detail and forms part of the lamps’ vintage appearance. One lamp has a decorative key-style socket switch and the other has a traditional socket switch. The history of these individual electrical components is unknown. Both lamps have been individually tested and are currently working. Vintage electrical components and cords are present. As with all vintage lighting, buyers may choose to have the electrical components inspected by a qualified professional before extended use.
