This substantial No. 2 churn is crafted in warm cream-glazed stoneware and decorated with two classic cobalt-blue bands encircling the upper body. The front bears a clearly visible blue maker's stamp reading “HAND TURNED / 2 / MARSHALL POTTERY.” The No. 2 designation corresponds to the traditional two-gallon size.

The hand-turned construction gives the vessel subtle variations in form and surface characteristic of wheel-thrown utilitarian stoneware. A fitted ceramic lid with central opening accommodates the long wooden dasher, which terminates in a traditional cross-form paddle.

An especially attractive piece of American utilitarian pottery for display in a farmhouse, rustic, Americana, country or collected interior. Beautiful displayed in a kitchen or pantry, alongside antique stoneware, or used as a sculptural decorative accent.
