This substantial abstract composition is meticulously constructed from welded metal nails arranged into an intricate architectural grid. The structure is punctuated with richly patinated copper-toned panels, contrasting dark metal squares, and raised brass-toned wave-form embellishments. Exposed brazed joints and individually finished nail ends contribute to the handcrafted, sculptural character of the work.
The open framework gives the sculpture remarkable dimensionality. When mounted, the projecting metalwork casts dramatic shadows against the wall, effectively becoming part of the composition as the surrounding light changes.
