Dated 1975, this piece represents an early period in Karson's career, created right around the time he finished his Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) at the Kansas City Art Institute.

Terry Karson (born Terence Brooks Karson, 1950–2017) was an esteemed American studio artist, curator, and arts administrator based in Montana. He is best known for his conceptual assemblages and sculptures created from transformed consumer packaging, discarded cardboard, and everyday refuse.Background & CareerBorn in Kansas City, Missouri, on April 24, 1950.Earned a B.F.A. from the Kansas City Art Institute and an M.F.A. from Montana State University.Worked for five years as a curator at the Yellowstone Art Museum in Billings, Montana.Died of cancer on January 27, 2017, at his home in Ennis, Montana.
Artistic Style: Elevated cheap, discarded materials like product packaging, junk mail, and bottle caps into fine art.Explored themes of consumerism, waste, repetition, and the order inherent in nature.
