Bring timeless English craftsmanship into your home with this antique Jacobean Revival library table by Hobbs & Co. of London. Constructed from solid oak, the table features richly carved apron details, dramatic barley twist stretchers, carved Green Man masks at the feet, and an original embossed leather writing surface with decorative gilt border.
A brass maker's plate reading "Hobbs & Co. London" and "Machine Made" remains attached, dating the piece to the turn of the 20th century. Two concealed side drawers provide convenient storage while maintaining the table's clean, symmetrical appearance.
The table retains its original character with age-related wear, including patina to the oak. Original gilt-tooled leather writing surface with an attractive aged patina. Displays honest wear from over a century of use, including scattered scuffs, scratches, and minor staining typical of an antique writing desk. The leather remains intact and presents beautifully, with the decorative gilt border still well preserved.
Perfect as a library table, executive desk, writing table, or statement center table.
